Our center was founded in 2013, ICAN’s mission is to:Conduct Basic and Applied Research.  Multidisciplinary teams perform basic and applied research on nanomaterials and nanocomposites. Activities range from creating new nanomaterials, concepts, and technologies to insert them in new products and applications. Educate Scientists and Engineers. Graduate students work directly for ICAN programs while they take classes. Engineers working in the industry and interested in nanomaterials and nanocomposites will be trained in ICAN. Transition Technology to Industry. Companies will benefit from our commitment to technology transfer, which provides them with new ideas, new nanomaterials and nanotechnologies, problem-solving capabilities, and access to potential employees with the capability to make immediate contributions.
